CCHCS seeks to fill a permanent/full-time Research Data Specialist II position in the Electronic Health Records System Documentation and Decision Support Unit, Medical Services Division.

Under the general direction of the Research Data Manager of the Electronic Health Records System (EHRS) Documentation and Decision Support Unit the Research Data Specialist (RDS) II performs routine to complex EHRS build activities involving:  integration of Cerner Event Codes, Cerner Computerized Provider Order Entry additions, Patient Information Worksheet tools, Order Entry Formats, Discrete Task Assays, Power Plans, Power Forms and Mpages for use in the construction of front-end real time clinical decision support tools to support the Integrated Substance-use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT) Program, and other related complex care initiatives. Independently identifies new strategies and presents information for clinical decision-making at the point-of-care. Serves as a project lead for small to mid-scale projects, develops and manages project work plans, and ensures the completion of projects under critical timelines to meet project objectives and deadlines. Guides, mentors, leads, and develops lower-level research and technical staff in the use of Structured Querying Language (SQL), Cerner Command Language (CCL), and third-party software packages.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued an Order on August 19, 2021 which requires workers working in a healthcare setting at all local and state correctional facilities and detention centers be vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore, all workers identified under the CDPH Order are required to either be vaccinated or submit a medical or religious accommodation. While working through either of these interactive processes, staff shall wear an N95 mask and test twice-weekly (with at least 72 hours between each test) until they comply with the August 19, 2021 CDPH Order.
