$53,772 - $68,004 Annual Range

Are you an experienced dental laboratory technician with a desire to teach others your trade? If so, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) have an outstanding opportunity that you’ll want to explore.

In this key position, you will provide supervision and vocational training to inmate workers in a CDCR dental laboratory, including, but not limited to:

  • Fabrication, assembly, and repair of full or partial dentures
  • Dental laboratory workflow
  • Proper use of dental equipment
  • Handling of contaminated materials

To thrive in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum two years of experience in the fabrication of a full range of dental prosthetics, of which one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity over entry-level staff in a dental laboratory is required.  Education, including two years of course work in dental laboratory operation, may be substituted for the required work experience.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Certification as a Dental Laboratory Technician by the National Board for Certification.
  • Completion of a dental technology program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
